Classic Triumphs

Well Gerald the Herald has gone. Sold him to someone who wanted a nice 1500TC engine for his own Herald. Quite sad really but just didn't have the time to get him back on the road. Luckily that doesn't mean that my love affair with Triumphs is over, as Nicki now has a splendid purple Stag called Sylvester!

He was acquired from ebay as an aniversary present, looking slightly rough round the edges but generally sound (or so we thought!). He had a white hardtop and had been resprayed a different shade of purple (which looked worryingly like the Nissab Micra purple). Anyway, since then he's had new front wings and front panel, fuel tank, brake disks, steering rack...the list goes on. But we love the troublesome scamp all the same!

You can read about his adventures here and see more of him here.

I've previoulsy owned a 1967 MkIII Spitfire, which never got the love and attention that it deserved. I also had a MkII that was in dire need of restoration but just sat in the garden until I sold it! I had until recently a conifer green Herald 13/60 fitted with a 1500TC engine. This also didn't get the attention needed to keep it in pristine condition and like me was showing its age before I finally sold the little fella to another Triumph enthusiast.

I am still a member of the Triumph Sports Six Club.
